The disruption in education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted over 1.6 billion children across the globe. In Pakistan, before the coronavirus outbreak, an estimated 22.8 million children were out of school. Our nation’s most vulnerable children may not have been in school in the first place, and if they were, they now might not make it back.
Pakistan is among 12 countries ‘at extreme risk’ of increased school dropouts and learning inequalities due to COVID-191. Children may be forced to work as their families fall deeper into poverty and girls, in particular, might never return to school.
As we prepare for the safe reopening of our schools, we need your help in bringing our children back into the classroom. On Pakistan’s Independence Day this year, play your part in nation-building by pledging to support the education of at least one child living in poverty. Please support us in our efforts to make quality education accessible and help us keep our children’s dreams alive.
