TCF-UK are proud to welcome British historian, writer and broadcaster, William Dalrymple, for an evening of literary conversation



Inspired by Marco Polo, William Dalrymple underwent extensive travels and published his first book, In Xanadu, based on his remarkable journey at the tender age of 22. In 1989 he settled in India and wrote other books including City of Jinns.  William changed genre to focus on history where one of his bestsellers, White Mughals (2003), won him the Wolfson Prize, the most prestigious history prize. This followed by The Last Mughal described as a ‘masterpiece’ in the New York Review and won him many awards. With his major contribution to history and captivating as well as rich style of writing, this literary genius has accomplished numerous accolades to his name.

Join us for an intimate discussion with this legendary author based on his latest brilliance, Return of a King – The Battle for Afghanistan chaired by Pakistani author, Moni Mohsin. William will read a short excerpt and detailed discussion into his book. You will also have an opportunity put any burning questions directly to the author.
